Innovation Birmingham in partnership with Enploy will be delivering a half a day workshop and event aimed at inspiring young women to consider the world of entrepreneurialism and Tech.
Delivered at iCentrum, the heart of Birmingham's tech community, we will demonstrate what working environments of the future will offer.
As well as this, students will also take part in an Enploy Entrepreneurial Mindset session – What attitudes, behaviours and skills help entrepreneurs achieve their goals?
Whether you decide to work for yourself or someone else, it’s our mindset, not just qualifications that can help shape what we love to do and where we want to work. Enploy’s session will explore why skills like creative thinking, resilience, proactivity and emotional intelligence are increasingly desirable at work. Students will consider their own interests and attitudes looking at their existing entrepreneurial mindset. How appealing is self-employment to them? What behaviours and skills do successful entrepreneurs develop?
Students will participate in group exercises taking away techniques to stimulate idea generation, recognise opportunities through a promotion v’s prevention approach and review their listening skills in a communications challenge.
The students will also hear from three women working in the Tech Sector either as business owners or speaking on the career experience and progression opportunities available when working as part of a start-up as apposed to a multinational large corporation.
